1. Introduction
Founded in 1902, Jiangsu University (JSU) is a national comprehensive key university under the joint support of China’s Ministry of Education, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Jiangsu Provincial Government. JSU is located in Zhenjiang, a well-known, beautiful, and historic city on the south bank of the Yangtze River.According to the latest ESI Ranking, JSU improved its ranking from 65th in 2016 to 45th in 2022 among China’s Universities. In the World University Ranking of Timers Higher Education (2022), JSU comes out 40th out of all universities in China, and Top 700 in the world. In the QS Asian University Ranking (2023), JSU is ranked 182nd in Asia.
2. Programs
JSU offers 18 bachelor’s programs, 50 master’s programs and 23 doctoral programs in English medium. The program duration is 4-year for bachelor’s program (6-year for MBBS), 3-year for master’s programs (2-year for MBA and Master Program in Law), 4-year for doctoral programs. 3. Eligibility
(1) Non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport. (Nationality requirements of the regulations set in the Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC must be met);
(2) Good health condition, in accordance with the Health Standard for International Students stipulated by the Ministry of Education, China;
(3) Good moral character and discipline towards the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the university;
(4) Good academic records and consistent academic background;(5) Language proficiency requirements: TOEFL: 80; IELTS: 6.0; Duolingo: 95 or equivalent.
4. How to Apply?
Applicants should complete the ONLINE APPLICATION on the JSU International Student Service System according to the application schedule. Applicants should fill in the application information online, upload the application documents listed below to online application system.
(1) Admission Schedule:November 12th, 2022 - January 8th, 2023 *Due to the limited seats for admission, early application is strongly recommended.
(2) Application Documents:

# Diploma/Certificate:
- Senior high school diploma or its notarized Chinese or English translation if it is in another language (for bachelor’s degree program applicants)
- Degree certificate from the undergraduate program onwards or its notarized Chinese or English translation if it is in another language (for master’s degree and doctoral degree program applicants)*Applicant who has not got the degree certificate when applying shall provide the pre-graduation certificate first, then provide the academic degree certificates no later than registration
# Academic transcript:
- High school academic transcripts or its notarized Chinese or English translation if it is in another language, or international standardization test results, such as SAT/ACT/A-Level/AP/IB etc. (bachelor’s degree program applicants only)
- Academic transcript from the undergraduate program onwards or its notarized Chinese or English translation if it is in another language (master’s degree and doctoral degree program applicants only)

- CNY40,000 deposit in bank or equivalent (for bachelor’s degree program applicants)
- CNY20,000 deposit in bank or equivalent (for master’s degree and doctoral degree program applicants)# Research proposal (for master’s degree and doctoral degree program applicants only)
# Recommendation letters from TWO professors or associate professors (for master’s degree and doctoral degree program applicants only)
# Non-criminal Record Certificate (issued within 6 months) # Foreigner Physical Examination Form (issued within 6 months)# Other Attachment: JSU Presidential Scholarship Application Form, award certificate, academic CV, etc. *Uploaded supporting documents must be clear, authentic and valid. It is suggested to use a professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded materials.
5. Admission
(1) JSU admits students based on evaluation of applicants’ academic record, language proficiency and entrance exam result (for bachelor’s degree program applicants only). The admission committee of the school/institute will review the application documents and select applicants for further interview. Interview date will be announced afterwards, please pay attention to the mailbox for the announcement. The final admission decision will be made normally 10-15 days after application;
(2) Before the final admission result is released, applicants may check their admission status via online application system. JSU will issue Admission Notice and Visa documents to those admitted through both email and application system.
6. Scholarships

7. Registration
(1) Admitted students should bring their personal and ordinary passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form (JW202), and original Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners to the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China, and apply for a student visa (X1 visa). Students must enter China with an ordinary passport and X1 visa, and must apply for a Residence Permit within 30 days after arrival in China. Students are required to arrive at JSU (along with the required documents) and complete their university registration during the dates indicated in the admission package;
(2) Registration will be in late February, 2023. Students who cannot come to China can choose to study online till it is necessary to shift to offline study. Students in China MUST study at Jiangsu University offline;
(3) Freshmen who agree to follow the COVID prevention measures of China and Jiangsu University will get required documents to apply for X1 visa to China.
8. Fees
(1) Application Fee: CNY 200 (paid before admission)
(2) Registration Fee: CNY 400 (includied in the seat reservation fee)
(3) Seat Reservation Fee will be informed on Admission Notice based on different applicant’s programs
(4) Accommodation Fee: CNY 4500-4900/year or CNY 40/day
(5) Insurance Fee: CNY 600/year paid to insurance company
(6) Physical Examination Fee, Resident Permit Application Fee shall be paid to relevant bureaus at the official rates. *Application Fee, Registration Fee and Seat Reservation Fee are NOT refundable once paid.
